The Alive college ministry at Placerita Baptist Church enjoys
retreats throughout the year, one recent retreat being Camp and
Surf at San Onofre (Calif.) State Beach. For two days the students and their friends learned to surf and enjoyed fellowshipping with one another over Frisbee, volleyball, and s’mores.
Placerita Baptist’s ministry to college students exists to glorify
God by proclaiming the gospel, serving others, and growing
to become more like Christ. Retreats like Camp and Surf, says
leader Michael Seehusen, are “a wonderful time encouraging one

One evening about a week after the retreat, the group “loved
others” in a unique way: After meeting at the church, they
headed to a Laundromat, where they paid for people’s laundry

“From Caesarea on the Mediterranean, to Dan in the far

inside and outside the church. Biblical counseling helps people
find and use God’s truth, reaches the community, and helps
people with their core spiritual issues. Through Faith Biblical
Counseling Ministries, unbelievers have been converted, and
Christians have been encouraged, restored, and freed.
“There is a supernatural joy that comes from knowing Christ

people find joy through submitting to Christ not only draws
new believers into the church, but also equips church members
for faithful service.

Fellowship Baptist Church had the privilege of baptizing five
young people outdoors. The day began with an outdoor worship
service and ended with a celebration of believers proclaiming
their faith through baptism.
Pastor David King notes a special element of the day: Four
of the young people were baptized by their fathers, and one girl,
a 16-year-old, was baptized by Youth Pastor Dennis Dale, who
had led her to Christ five weeks earlier in youth group.
